Across the Infrastructure Division, specialist teams provide expertise in ground investigation, geotechnical engineering, geotechnical consultancy, borehole drilling, trial pitting, foundation investigations, utility mapping, geophysical surveys and site characterisation. These services provide the data and technical insight required to support informed decision-making from the earliest stages of a project.
Laboratory and Field Testing Capabilities
Accredited laboratory and field-testing services are also a key part of the Division’s capabilities. Businesses across the network deliver materials testing, concrete testing, asphalt testing, aggregate testing, soil testing, earthworks testing, pavement testing, groundwater testing, water testing and environmental chemistry services, helping clients meet quality, performance and regulatory requirements.
Environmental and Sustainability Expertise
The Division also provides expertise in environmental consultancy, contaminated land assessments, environmental permitting, environmental due diligence, air quality, noise assessments and planning support, helping clients navigate increasingly complex environmental requirements. Additional specialist services include ecology consultancy, habitat and protected species surveys, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, arboricultural consultancy, heritage and archaeology services, supporting sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
Surveying, Monitoring and Asset Intelligence
Further capabilities within the Infrastructure Division include topographical surveys, PAS128 utility mapping, measured building surveys, laser scanning, GIS, reality capture, structural monitoring, bridge inspections, vibration monitoring, instrumentation, drone inspections and remote monitoring solutions. These services provide valuable information for asset owners, developers, engineers and contractors responsible for managing infrastructure safely and effectively.

The Division’s expertise extends to civil engineering consultancy, infrastructure advisory services, asset management, flood risk assessments, drainage strategies, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, SuDS design and hydrographic surveys, supporting infrastructure resilience and long-term asset performance.
